Privacy Policy

Sprout ("we," "us," "the app") is a plant care app made by Sprout Plant Care, a sole proprietorship. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

What we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address (via Supabase Auth) to let you sign in and sync your data across devices.

Plant data. Plant names, species, photos, watering/fertilizer logs, and schedules you enter. This data lives on your device by default, and is backed up to our cloud database (Supabase) only if you're signed in.

Plant diagnosis photos. If you use the diagnosis feature, the photo you submit is sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) for analysis. We do not store your diagnosis photos — only the text summary and suggested causes are saved to your account so you can look back on them.

Location. If you enable weather-based scheduling, we use your device's location to fetch local weather from OpenWeatherMap. Location is used only to request weather data and is not stored on our servers.

Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We don't see or store your payment details — Apple handles all billing directly.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't show ads or use tracking for advertising.
• We don't share your plant data with third parties except the service providers listed below, solely to operate the app.

Service providers we use

• Supabase — account authentication and cloud data storage
• Anthropic — processes diagnosis photos to generate guidance
• RevenueCat / Apple — manages subscriptions and purchases
• OpenWeatherMap — provides local weather data

Your controls

• Offline use: you can use Sprout without an account — your data stays only on your device.
• Delete your account: in-app, go to Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all associated cloud data immediately.

Children's privacy

Sprout is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
